Anna Hazare heads to South Sudan
Self proclaimed anti-corruption champion and proponent of intermittent fasting Anna Hazare has landed in South Sudan after claiming success in the war against corruption in India.
"Corruption is all but over in India. In fact it is so low today that the CBI and ED no longer have any work. They are now working for the government full time as extended arms of the ruling party and how much more validation do you need," questioned Anna.
When asked about electoral bonds, Hazare said "guys take a chill pill. During the previous government you wouldn't even know who paid whom. Today, you know everything. How much was paid to whom and for what work. What more do you want"?
When told that the revelation was due to an intervention by the judiciary, Anna said "so you admit we have an independent judiciary. Thats all thanks to the anti corruption movement that I ran. This was never so in the last 7 decades. Today we are living in a free India where the ED can raid anyone irrespective of caste or religion. And you can get ED of your back with a small token payment to the ruling party. This is anti corruption on steroids," Anna claimed.
Anna landed in South Sudan capital Juba in the early hours of Saturday. He claims he is there to launch an anti-corruption movement on the lines of what he launched in India. Anna was welcomed by South Sudanese dictator Salva Kiir Mayardit.
"The highly respected anti corruption leader Anna will help us become a corruption free nation," Mayardit said in a terse reply to a question by a journo.
Mayardit announced that South Sudan will also make anonymous electoral funding through bonds mandatory going forward. This as per Salva Kiir Mayardit is only the first step in the war on corruption in South Sudan.
Mayardit has also awarded himself the title of Mësues Botëror to lead the fight against corruption.
